The long wait for the Utah Hockey Club to pick a name is seemingly over.
Utah HC, which joined the NHL in 2024-25 after relocating from Arizona, will reportedly adopt the nickname "Mammoth."
News of the change began to filter out early on Wednesday morning when Cole Bagley of KSL Sports noticed that the team's official YouTube page showed the username UtahMammoth.

There has been no confirmation of the change from the club, which was deciding between Utah HC, the Outlaws, and the Mammoth as its new moniker.
The process for choosing a name for Utah HC has come under scrutiny, as the franchise reportedly ran into trademark issues with its preferred name, "Utah Yeti." The club, which is run by Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith, has hired outside marketing firms to help with the decision.
Utah HC went 38-31-13 and finished with 89 points in its first season in Salt Lake City. The club missed the playoffs by seven points.
